[Feedback] Improvements and Feedback to Bots/AI
- Have every bot drop a deployable between assault waves, regardless of what the team needs. I often find myself so close to "needing" something but the bots just wont drop anything.
- Give bots a health boost, or improve their AI, so that clearing Overkill difficulty in solo is possible
- Randomize bot weapons or give them an entire pseudo loadout (random weapons, skills) to make them feel more refreshing and unique. Also randomize the actual heister that the bots can be (so that the bots aren't always locked into the core 4 heisters)
- Let bots throw grenades (or other throwables) occasionally
These ideas should hopefully help bots emulate real players better while making it easier for solo players to complete heists on the hardest difficulty.

Felps MergedThe team could have more functions like, negotiating the hostages to save time, Helping with the objectives, for example in this beta you had to get the bag to set it on fire and there were several bags the team could pick up and throw there to help you, They could also pick up the money bag and playing in the Van alone, would greatly improve the offline game

The AI in this game are even more worthless than the AI in Payday 2, constantly vaulting over/climbing under objects for no reason when half the time it gets them killed in gunfights. The fact AI heisters STILL can't pick up bags or toss them in the van by themselves is absolutely ridiculous even Crime Boss: Rockay City got this right and they don't have 2 games worth of insight like Payday 3. Also side note it feels like you have to be SUPER precise when throwing bags at the bots when in Payday 2 you could just kinda toss it their way and they'd receive it, now if you don't get it square on their back their not getting the bag.
Very unimpressed with this game. You guys have ALOT of polish to do before release! -

Cloud MergedI'm noticing a lot of the same problems with the AI that payday 2 had. A good chunk of them just stare at me and don't shoot, or are extremely late to react. Also, I feel like they don't utilize the map as much as the devs talked about. I don't see them taking cover super often, I don't see them doing formations that often, etc. There were moments of sheer cinematic bliss where the AI did all of these things together, but it's so few and far between. Extremely inconsistent overall.

Guy Man MergedI am uncertain if this has already been examined, but in my time in the beta team-sided bots seemingly couldn't understand that they were dying from standing in gas grenades.
This means that in solo play or with only 1 other teammate, a grenadier can teamwipe the bots, as they will make no effort to escape the gas if they are presently within it. -

And this game made me wonder what is missing in PAYDAY.
Because in this game the AI team helps with the robbery by collecting the loot itself and not only that, because when the player throws a bag of loot either on their back or on the ground, they can pick it up from the ground and then they carry it themselves to the van or to the designated location where the loot bag belongs.
And exactly that kind of behavior is missing in PayDay.
Now in PAYDAY the way it works is that the AI team attacks the cops. Or the player can throw a bag on the AI team's back, but the AI team goes and follows the player, so in the end the AI team doesn't help much. -

Neeko MergedI'm not saying make them alot better, im just saying when your transporting 10+ bags solo the bots help, until they make the decision to stand in one location for an indefinite amount of time until they ultimately go down and leave one of your bags in the middle of a hoard of police. They also seem to prioritize shooting over reviving other bots or god forbid you the player. Just a suggestion though. At higher difficulties (Very Hard+) the bots are obsoletely useless. You end up reviving the bots constantly and then when you go down with 2 downs left the game is over because they cannot prioritize reviving you over shooting at shields. I realize this enforces teamwork with other players, but when im constantly being put in empty lobbies I haft to rely on bots for some level of assistance.

Leeb MergedI'm only advocating this for stealth while mask is still off, but just let the AI help carry bags to the van when there's no chance of getting caught in a public area with a bag anyway.
The only part of stealth I've never enjoyed has been when there is no risk of getting caught.. but you still have the chore of walking back and forth with a bunch of bags to the van.
If you still haven't put on your mask, I would like to see the AI heisters take a bag directly to the van if you give them a bag in a public area.
I'm not sure how I feel about this if you are stealth with mask on because getting to the van is part of the challenge.. but with all masks still off, why not? Its just less walking back and forth. -

ProperGander MergedMake a ping system where you tell your AI crew what to do. First, aim at a crew member and hit the "shout" button to "select" them. Then you have some options.
-Select the crew member's upper body to order them to follow you.
-Select their legs to order them to hold position.
-Select another crew member to order your selection to provide cover/revive. This way you can have your partners spread out.
-Select an objective to have them interact with it; they won't interact with more complex things like keypads.
-Select a loot bag to have them pick it up and regroup with you.
-Select a loot drop-off point to have them start moving any loot on the map to extraction. They'll prioritize reviving downed crew members within range.
-In stealth, the above command can also be issued, but not if the route goes through a private area that currently has any patrolling guards, and not at all if there is an active search. -

boosted health or the ability to change their loadouts would be incredibly helpful
also if they could revive each other so I didn't have to put myself into danger and lure all of them out which die in seconds would be fantastic -

Fox MergedI tend to do Road Rage on hard and trying to do Very Hard but the bots aren't useful enough for me to revive each other when one of them goes down. Also bots are much dumber now as they stay in Naders gas constantly and many times when I've been cloakered or downed, they struggle to save me. I need the bots due to the fact I struggle have people in my game.

Dave MergedIf you're playing solo and drop a bag to an AI it could either go to the drop-off point to drop it or just move faster, because as it stands just hauling all the bags to the drop off point is the longest part of solo stealth heists.

Miles Fox MergedFirst - make AI's position count in "Stand in Circles" objectives. Second - add ability to tell them to stay at desired position. It could work like that: You add a waypoint with MMB where you want them to stand, then call any of crewmates by MMB and they come to that exact waypoint and stand there until you call them again or, well, they die.

Mo MergedEvery time i try to delay assault by traiding civilians, bots are killing cops and this is canceling the trading. I cant use full strenght of that feature.
Make something about that (Bots not being able to shout during trading phase or killing cops dosent start assaults) or add an option to unable the bots. -

Kable MergedI did No Rest for the Wicked solo and I got cuffed. I called for help, and Chains uncuffed me. However after that he was masked on and roaming around like a maniac. When he saw a guard he just shot him without hesitation.
It would be neat if we could for example do what WolfHUD did in payday 2, to make the AI stationary with the emote wheel. -

Andreas Sebastian ZochI agree that bots get downed way to fast on overkill. I just get stuck in a loop of helping them up over and over again until I am down myself. I also think bots shouldn't all charge at a bulldozer and fall to the ground right in front of it. I think it's good that bots don't start defeating bulldozers for the players, but for them to put themselves at his mercy is just sabotage. In my experience, very few people actually want to try to complete the heist loud after a stealth failure on very hard and overkill difficulty. Often the players vote to restart the game directly or they simply leave the game. When I then just want to try, the bots tend to get in the way and shoot me in the back rather than being really helpful. I would also be really happy if the bots get a check to see if there is something between them and their target so that they shoot less at their fellow bots and players. I know it doesn't do any damage at the moment, but unfortunately the screenshake remains.

sh1verSimply put, I'd be happy if they could revert the Bots to their unmodded Payday2-level strength. If the developers feel that a Bot with 8000 health that regenerates when not taking damage for a second is too strong, then they could just reduce the Bot's firepower in Payday3. At the very least, it's ridiculous for Bots to be doing weight training in prison before the players, which is laughable.

Squid MergedRight now, crew AI will let other crew AI simply bleed out, even while stood directly next to them. This makes solo play incredibly rough as going into custody is nearly a guaranteed heist failure and reviving downed AI constantly isn't viable.
